The Valpolicella by E-Bike or Mountain Bike, 2 Nights

Three days and three itineraries to enjoy the beauty of a valley rich in experiences to live and stories to listen to — a land of rolling hills covered with vineyards and olive groves, just a few steps from Verona and Lake Garda, waiting to be discovered on two wheels.

Day 1 – The Valpolicella of Parks and Villages
A full day dedicated to the villages and mountain wonders of the valleys that make up the Valpolicella.

Meeting with the guide and bike delivery in Negrar. Our first stop will be the Roman Villa site and its splendid mosaics. Then we’ll head north to Prun to visit the Prun Quarries — an astonishing place of columns and tunnels carved into the rock since the 13th century by the monks of San Zeno. Continuing uphill, we’ll reach Fane, a small hamlet of Sant’Anna d’Alfaedo and home to an astronomical observatory, before arriving at the Ponte di Veja, a natural stone arch within the Falesie della Lessinia Park. A walk beneath and above the arch rewards us with grottos, giant chestnut trees, a historic fountain, and breathtaking views.
Lunch will follow in a nearby restaurant located along the famous European trail E-5, which runs from Brittany to Verona.
In the afternoon, we’ll continue north to Fosse to visit a local dairy and taste regional cheeses before returning to the valley. On the way down, we’ll stop at two stone-built villages, Gorgusello and Breonio, where time seems to have stopped, and later we’ll visit the enchanting Molina Waterfalls Park for a gentle hike to its most beautiful cascades.
Back on our bikes, we’ll ride downhill through vineyards, olive groves, cherry trees, and farmhouses, arriving in Fumane — a village at the foot of Mount Pastello, surrounded by pink-stone quarries and magnificent scenery. The area is well known for its fine wines and olive oil — a perfect place for an authentic gourmet stop. Overnight stay.

Day 2 – The Valpolicella of Valleys and Landscapes
A day devoted to scenic beauty and the diverse landscapes of the Valpolicella.

Breakfast at the hotel and departure from the village for a panoramic route across the Valpolicella hills. We’ll follow Via Santuario, a six-kilometre road through olive groves and vineyards leading to Cavalo, on the slopes of Mount Pastello. After a short stop at a scenic winery (tasting included), we’ll continue toward Mazzurega and the Solane Sanctuary (visit included).
From here, a mostly flat route offers beautiful natural landscapes until we reach the stunning Pieve di San Giorgio in Valpolicella (visit included). After a coffee break, we’ll descend through Gargagnago and Bure to San Pietro in Cariano, where we’ll visit a local wine estate and enjoy a tasting followed by lunch in a charming trattoria.
In the afternoon, we’ll head south toward the Adige River to visit Pescantina, an ancient river port once known for building Lake Garda fishing boats and today famous for its peaches (celebrated from June to August during “La Pesca in Tavola”). After exploring its historic center, we’ll follow the river to Parco Ottocento and then climb toward Arbizzano for a final stop to taste Garda Extra Virgin Olive Oil with warm bread and a glass of wine. Return to Negrar. Overnight stay.

Day 3 – The Valpolicella of Flavours
A day dedicated to taste, local products, and the finest wine estates in the heart of the valley.

A short but flavour-packed itinerary devoted to wine, olive oil, cheeses, and the people behind these traditions. We’ll leave Negrar for Marano, home to some of the most beautiful farmhouses and medieval hamlets of the region.
Here we’ll visit an agritourism estate for a tasting of wines, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and local cheeses such as Monte Veronese and “Ubriacone all’Amarone,” as well as the area’s famous cured meats.
We’ll then ride toward Valgatara along a charming path surrounded by vineyards and farms, continuing to Fumane and Gargagnago — the “village of Amarone” — an enchanting spot nestled among rolling hills and vineyards. After another stop at a local farm for lunch and tasting, we’ll continue toward San Pietro in Cariano, San Floriano, Pedemonte, and Arbizzano for one last “tasty” surprise before returning to Negrar and returning our bikes.
